Golden Moments
Yin & Yang
My memories of childhood are much like that of others stories shared. I have sibling stories like never being able to find a matching pair of socks before the bus came and almost killing each other for the match , to summer days of playing until the end of the day and rushing to do chores at the latest minutes not to get into trouble. I remember many hot summer nights where we would hang our heads out the bedroom window for the slightest breeze of air, only for the hope of sleep! The summer months also remind me of family visiting and where I can remember my parents excited for the “events “( food , games, and company)) of the family get- togethers with the Pry Families. This sense of excitement was infectious and as a result we Pry children looked forward to seeing our aunts, uncles and cousins. And that may explain why yet today, our family not only look forward to getting together but has been taught through example family is what really matters.

Mom & Dad are like yin and yang. Their personalities compliment one another and create a balance that I could only appreciat as a married adult! I am blessed in having such a strong, stubborn mother who can hold her own, and has proven to, to being fortunate in having a father who ensured his children a loving home and who truely taught his children and grandchildren to love life through his sense of adventure and who taught his family that in life “if you are down to get the hell up”!

Thank You Mom & Dad and Congratulations!

Meeting Harold and Margaret

I have several memories of Harold and Margaret but the one that I always look back on is the first time I met them.  For Harold Jr. and my first date we went to Grandma Horst's 97th birthday party, scary I know.  We traveled with Jeannie, Bill and Blake.  Blake was so excited to see his Grandpa, all Jeannie and Bill told me is that it was along drive and Harold Jr. said that his mom would love me.  As we are walking up to the Nursing Home I see Harold sitting there with all of these kids sitting around him with awe struck eyes, they were hanging on every word that he was saying. As I walked in he just looked at me, and I have to admit he scared me, but soon he had me hanging on every word he was saying too. Harold Jr. was right his mom did love me, Margaret came right up to me and gave me a hug, from that point forward I felt like I was part of the family.  There are not to many families like this family, when one of the kids comes home, everyone is there to welcome you, when you cross one of them, they all come after you.  They stick together through thick and thin no matter what.  This is a strong testament for Harold and Margaret. I am so lucky to be part of a family where there is so much love for eachother and to know that when ever they are needed, they are there for me and my family.

Trip to Virginia
My favorite memory of my grandparents is the trip to Virginia.  It was 23 hours one way.  It started off ok but it changed constantly.  One minute they loved each other and when they thought they missed a turn or were going the wrong way, it was war.   Grandpa would get so mad and upset I couldn't help but laugh and grandma would just shake her head looking out the window. After all was said and done grandpa would relaize he was on the right road and apologize saying how lucky he was to have grandma.

Once he decided to race some guy on the interstate and there were times we were going over 100 mph. When grandma realized what grandpa was doing, I had never heard her chew my grandpa's butt like that before.  I was very impressed. Its something that I will never forget even to this day.  Nothing has changed between the two of them going back and forth but it is what my grandparents so SPECIAL.  I love you both and thank you for being you! I love visiting my Grandpa and Grandma because Grandpa tries to get my toes, and he tries to kiss me when he takes his teeth out. My grandma brings me to the dollar store and gets me a coloring book!! I love you Grandpa and Grandma
Grizzly Adams & Mother Teresa by Son-in-law Bill

My first memory of meeting Harold & Margaret is I went over to their house for the first time. Jeannie said my Dad will be a little rough and my mom is religious. Little did I know I was meeting Grizzly Adams and Mother Teresa. I'm glad I have you for in-laws. Love Bill
